What in the name of Jehosophat were they thinking?
Today, Congress voted down probably one of the last hopes for the success of America's economy. In and amazing 205-235 vote, Congress chickened out. Too many of them were thinking of reelection instead of the success of this nation. As the no votes rolled in, the Dow began to plummet, dropping over 700 points before closing. 700 POINTS! The people who represent us failed this nation.
Personally, I do not believe in bailing out failing businesses, but this is an exception. With the stock market scare a couple of weeks ago with AIG, and the pleas from both party leaders, I saw this bailout plan as a necessity for our dollar to survive. In a recent article, the primary reason for the no vote was that it was "too close to election" to make such a major decision like this one. In all terms, they were afraid to lose their office. Stupid! How dare they put their power and salary above the needs of this country! Pray that this next plan passes, or doomsday as we know it will come. Call your congressman and senator and tell them to pass the next plan.
